Drivers in Ukraine actively used digital services in the 'Diia' application

The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine presented statistics on the use of digital services for drivers in the 'Diia' application for the first two months of 2025. During this period, Ukrainians actively used digital services for motorists.

As reported by Mykhailo Fedorov, the Minister of Digital Transformation, in his Telegram channel, services for drivers have become some of the most popular in the application.

'Our philosophy is to create services that meet all needs at different stages of life. For example, for drivers, 'Diia' is All inclusive,' the minister noted.

According to infographics, during the specified period, Ukrainians shared digital documents for vehicles 49,552 times, while 3,760 users canceled sharing.

Also, 712,540 fines were issued through 'Diia', of which 75% were recorded by automated systems, and 25% by the police. Additionally, 26,961 citizens took advantage of the opportunity to replace their driver's license through the application, with the average Time spent on this service being about 20 seconds. Another 25,049 Ukrainians made a purchase or sale of a vehicle through 'Diia'.

'Decided to buy a car? Become an owner in 'Diia'. Didn't have luck on the road and got a fine? Pay in 'Diia'. Lost your driver's license? You also need to go to 'Diia.', the minister emphasized, adding that new services are planned to be launched soon, including the replacement of technical passports and registration of vehicles after customs clearance.

It should be noted that fines for drivers in Ukraine are regulated by the Code of Administrative Offenses, which provides for various amounts of punishment for the most common traffic violations, including fines for the absence of documents, speeding, and driving under the influence.

It is worth noting that fuel prices remain one of the key factors in the budget of every driver in Ukraine, with premium gasoline A-95+ costing 60.19 UAH per liter as of February 26, 2025, regular A-95 - 56.89 UAH, A-92 - 54.05 UAH, and diesel fuel - 55.28 UAH.

Additionally, fines in Ukraine are significantly lower compared to European countries, for example, in Germany some violations can cost up to 500,000 euros, while in Ukraine the maximum fine is only 1,700 UAH (about 40 euros).

Moreover, age restrictions for drivers in Ukraine are also planned to change, considering Bill No. 8082, which involves implementing mandatory medical and psychological tests for drivers over 65 when renewing driver's licenses.

It should be added that the demand for diesel cars in Ukraine is decreasing, and among the most popular car models among drivers are RENAULT Duster (144 units), TOYOTA Land Cruiser Prado (129 units), TOYOTA Hilux (66 units), PEUGEOT Landtrek (62 units), and SKODA Kodiaq.
