Girkin criticized the Kremlin for Yanukovych's statements: what happened.
According to inkorr.com: Former Minister of Defense of the 'DPR' Igor Girkin (Strelkov) expressed his protest regarding the appearance of Viktor Yanukovych, the former President of Ukraine, in Russian propaganda. He believes that the Kremlin made a mistake by allowing Yanukovych to support negative narratives about Europe.
“For God's sake, if Yanukovych (or as they call him, Yanukovich) were to speak in support of Zelensky and Ukraine now, he would be much more useful for our cause than when he supports the theses voiced by our propaganda...”
I do not know who allowed Yanukovych to publish these statements. It would be better if this monster, this vile creature did not appear at all in Russian television and radio broadcasts, to be forgotten forever. This is the best thing that can be done,” added Girkin.
Yanukovych's speech and the reaction to it
Recently, Yanukovych has made several speeches in which he called for closer cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union and joined the campaign criticizing Europe. The Institute for the Study of War indicates that his video address may be related to Putin's speech at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit.
Girkin, commenting on Yanukovych's media appearance, emphasized that such a position only undermines Kremlin propaganda. He believes that Yanukovych would have been much more useful if he supported Zelensky and Ukraine instead of playing along with propaganda narratives.
The question of Yanukovych's role in Russian politics remains relevant, considering his past and current statements. Girkin's reaction may indicate a rift in thoughts within the Russian leadership regarding the use of Yanukovych for propaganda purposes. This highlights the complexity that the Kremlin faces in this situation, as attempts to influence public opinion may backfire.
