Utility tariffs in Russia will rise by one third: who and how much will pay.
According to inkorr.com: Residents of Russia are preparing for an increase in utility prices. According to government forecasts, housing and utility prices may rise by almost 30% over the next three years. This is due to the need to modernize old networks, the funding of which is planned to be carried out at the expense of the population, as the budget is largely directed towards military needs, reports the portal 'Glavkom'.
Forecast of tariff increase
From 2026 to 2028, a 27.9% increase in housing and utility tariffs in Russia is planned. The changes will occur gradually: in 2026, tariffs will increase by 9.9%, in 2027 - by 8.7%, and in 2028 - by 7.1%.
According to official government data, tariffs for housing and utility services in Russia will increase by 27.9% over three years. In 2026, the increase will be 9.9%, in 2027 - 8.7%, and in 2028 - 7.1%.
Specific changes in tariffs
The increase will affect gas, electricity, heat, water, and sewage. For example, the cost of gas will rise by 9.6%, 9.1%, and 7% respectively, electricity prices will increase by 11.3%, 8.6%, and 9.1%, while heating will become more expensive by 9.9%, 9.3%, and 6.8% in 2026, 2027, and 2028 respectively.
The Russian government believes that the increase in utility tariffs will be a necessary step to fund the modernization of outdated networks, while budgetary funds will remain concentrated on military expenditures.
