Changes to Military Law

According to Novyny.live: Ukraine's Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRCs) have been granted new authority to impose fines for violations of military law under two articles of the Code of Administrative Offenses. This change applies to regulations concerning military registration, defense, and mobilization.

Penalty Amounts

During wartime, fines range from 17,000 to 25,500 Ukrainian hryvnias for offenses related to military registration and mobilization procedures. In peacetime, the penalty structure differs:

  • Violations of military registration rules carry fines from 3,400 to 5,100 hryvnias.
  • Breaches of defense and mobilization legislation incur fines from 5,100 to 8,500 hryvnias.

These amendments aim to strengthen citizen accountability for compliance with military law, particularly under current wartime conditions. The new powers will allow TRCs to more effectively enforce requirements tied to military registration and mobilization. This legal update reflects the heightened importance of military readiness and administrative compliance during a national defense effort. The move underscores the state's focus on ensuring adherence to defense regulations and may serve as an additional incentive for citizens to fulfill their military obligations responsibly. Enhanced control in this area is part of a broader state strategy to maintain defense preparedness amid ongoing security threats.
