According to TSN.ua: On March 23, 2023, a series of explosions rocked Bucha, a city in the Kyiv region, with authorities classifying the incident as a terrorist act. Two law enforcement officers sustained injuries and are reported to be in moderate condition. The police received an emergency call at 5:35 AM from a local woman who witnessed the event.
A 21-year-old resident of Bucha has been arrested on suspicion of planting the explosive devices. The bombs were concealed under a bench near an apartment building entrance and next to a trash container. The suspect reportedly learned how to assemble the explosives through online instructions. A criminal case has been opened under Ukraine's terrorism statute, which carries penalties ranging from 15 years to life imprisonment.
Police have released details of the incident, confirming that two officers were wounded in the blast.
“The injured have been hospitalized. Based on preliminary information, their condition is moderate and not life-threatening,” said Mykola Kalashnyk.It has also emerged that after receiving the instructions, the suspect began communicating with a new acquaintance, who then blackmailed him by claiming to know where his mother lives and allegedly monitoring her with a drone.
