The research tracked 1,200 lung cancer patients following immunotherapy. Those with a healthy thymus showed a 37% lower risk of cancer spreading and a 44% lower risk of death.
These results were reinforced by a second study involving 25,000 participants in a lung cancer screening program and 2,500 healthy volunteers. Individuals with a healthy thymus had a 63% lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease and a 36% lower risk of developing lung cancer.
