Tragedy in Rome: Tower Collapse Claims the Life of a Worker

According to inkorr.com: A Romanian worker died after 11 hours under the rubble following the collapse of part of the medieval Torre dei Conti in Rome. According to the BBC, citing the ANSA agency, unfortunately, the man could not be saved despite the efforts of the medical team.

It's reported that his condition was critical. He suffered a cardiac arrest while in the ambulance, and although doctors revived him, he died in the hospital.

Second Worker in Hospital

Another worker, also Romanian, was rescued almost immediately after the collapse and taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but his life is not in danger, reports Reuters.

No official reports have been made regarding the death of the second worker.

Situation at the Collapse Site

On the morning of November 3, part of the Torre dei Conti collapsed within the Imperial Forums in Rome. The first worker was pulled from under the rubble only at 11 PM local time, nearly 12 hours after the incident, and was immediately taken to the hospital.

An investigation is currently ongoing aimed at determining the causes of this tragic event.

This tragedy has drawn attention to safety issues at construction sites and the condition of historical monuments. The investigation may reveal shortcomings in safety practices used during the work. Such incidents raise questions about overall oversight of such projects, especially in historical areas where the risk of collapse may be heightened due to the age and condition of the buildings.
