Trump announced a trilateral meeting with Zelensky and Putin: who else will join.
U.S. President Donald Trump announced his intention to hold a trilateral meeting with his counterparts — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Kremlin head Vladimir Putin. He even did not rule out the possibility of involving other world leaders in this summit.
On Tuesday, August 14, during a press conference at the White House, Trump told reporters about his plans and expectations for the upcoming meeting.
What Trump said about the trilateral meeting
On the eve of negotiations with Putin, the American president stated that he believes in the possibility of a lasting trilateral dialogue. In addition, representatives from European countries may join the event.
According to Trump, communication with Putin, Zelensky, and other leaders will be more important for him than the subsequent negotiations with the head of the Russian Federation.
'Tomorrow we have a meeting with Putin. I'm sure it will go successfully. And it doesn't matter. The main thing is the second meeting with Putin, Zelensky, and me. There is a chance that we will invite some European leaders to the event, but it is still uncertain.' — emphasized Trump.
It is worth noting that previously Donald Trump had repeatedly commented on his expectations from negotiations with Putin and the possibility of imposing new sanctions against Russia.
All eyes are on this anticipated trilateral meeting, which could determine the future relations between the U.S., Ukraine, and Russia, as well as impact the situation in the region as a whole. It is important to closely monitor the developments and possible outcomes of this summit.
