Trump on Putin after the conversation: He takes peace seriously.
Trump expressed his opinion about Putin and the peaceful resolution in Ukraine
According to ТСН: U.S. President Donald Trump believes that Russian President Vladimir Putin takes the peaceful resolution of the war in Ukraine seriously, despite the continued attacks from the Russian army, particularly on Kyiv.
This opinion was voiced by Trump while responding to journalists' questions before meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
“No, he [Putin] takes it seriously,” Trump said.
The American leader noted that both sides continue to exchange blows as the war continues. He also emphasized the strength of the Ukrainian attacks.
“Ukraine is conducting strong attacks on Russia, we cannot close our eyes to this... I’m not saying this negatively. I don’t think these explosions were caused by Congo or the U.S. They are at war,” Trump noted.
Despite the shelling from both sides, the U.S. President expressed confidence in the desire for peace from both sides.
“We will see what happens. We have two sides that really want peace,” he concluded.
It is worth noting that a meeting between Presidents Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky is taking place in Palm Beach, Florida, where a peace plan for ending the war in Ukraine is being discussed.
Before negotiations with Zelensky, the U.S. President also had a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the details of which were later made public by the Kremlin.
This meeting is important not only for discussing the peaceful resolution but also for demonstrating the mutual desire of both leaders to find a way out of the prolonged conflict. Coordination of actions between the U.S. and Ukraine could be a decisive factor in the further development of events at the regional level.
