The Russian airstrike caused casualties in Zaporizhzhia
According to data obtained as a result of the airstrike carried out by Russian military forces, 13 civilians were killed and 32 people were injured in Zaporizhzhia.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, confirmed this information in his address on the evening of January 8.
'There was a strike by Russian bombs on the city, directly on civilians... This was a strike solely on the city, on ordinary people. A completely deliberate strike by the Russian army,' the head of state emphasized.
The President stated that this attack is further evidence of Russia's true intentions, which seeks war and to create victims. Zelensky stressed the need to increase pressure on Moscow and force it to peace.
He also reported on his participation in the meeting in the 'Ramstein' format, where issues regarding strengthening Ukraine's air defense will be discussed. Initial meetings of Defense Minister Umierov have already begun in Germany.
Negotiations were also held with the leaders of other countries. During a conversation with the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, the possibility of providing coal to solve energy problems was discussed. In discussions with the Emir of Qatar, issues regarding the return of abducted children and the exchange of prisoners were considered. During a conversation with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, further support from Ukraine was discussed.
