General Apostol warns against internal discord: it is a threat to Ukraine's defense.
According to ТСН: The situation at the front requires maximum concentration of all efforts from society. Ukrainians need to show patience and not allow internal disagreements to undermine the state from within in order to overcome Russian aggression. The military on the front line is fulfilling its task, but they need a reliable rear focused on common values rather than personal interests.
This opinion was expressed by the commander of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Hero of Ukraine, Brigadier General Oleg Apostol, in an interview with TSN during the national telethon "Unified News".
Withstand and destroy the potential of the Russian Federation
The general emphasized that it is important not to seek easy paths now, but to tune in to a difficult struggle. Russia remains the main enemy, and victory over it will require significant efforts and patience from Ukrainians.
In the commander's opinion, the occupiers are not "iron" and cannot endure pressure forever. Thus, the task of the Defense Forces is to exhaust the enemy.
"We need to grit our teeth and really grind them down. It will give its result, you will see. The enemy also cannot hold on for long," Oleg Apostol is convinced.
Threats of internal discord
The commander of the Air Assault Forces also addressed those who are in the rear, in particular officials and politicians. He warned about the danger of internal struggles and the "race" for ratings or positions that could harm the state at the most critical moment.
It is important for the military to know that their sacrifice is not in vain and that the rear understands the price paid by the defenders.
"So that it doesn't turn out that we are standing here for nothing, giving our lives for Ukraine, while the boys are fighting until the last moment, holding on, and somewhere else someone just has different values, thinking about how to get somewhere else," concluded the brigadier general.
Let us remind you that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have "slowed down" Russia's advance on a dangerous section of the front. Against the backdrop of heavy fighting near Myrnograd, Ukrainian units are working to prevent the enemy from consolidating on new lines.
This situation confirms that the unity of all components of society is critically important for success in the struggle against the aggressor. The challenges facing Ukraine require all of us not only endurance but also readiness to support those who defend our Motherland, ensuring appropriate rear support. We must stand together to win.
