Tropical Storm in Vietnam: Four Dead and Mass Evacuation.
Tropical Storm in Vietnam Causes Casualties and Destruction
According to inkorr.com: On Tuesday, a tropical storm hit Vietnam, resulting in tragedy: at least four dead, serious building damage, and flooding in the capital and coastal areas. This was reported by The Associated Press.
According to the agency, four people were killed as a result of the storm, including a 90-year-old man whose house collapsed due to heavy rain, and a man who died from electrocution while trying to protect his home before the storm. Another 13 people were injured, and thousands of houses suffered damage in the central part of the country.
The storm also caused power outages in Nghe An province. The Vietnamese government reported that about 600,000 people had to be evacuated from the provinces of Thanh Hoa, Quang Tri, Hue, and Da Nang, where more than 152,000 homes were in high-risk zones.
Paralyzed City of Mumbai
Earlier, monsoon rains caused severe damage to the city of Mumbai, the financial and entertainment capital of India. This led to disruptions in flight operations and some local trains, which are a critical part of the city's transport system.
Thus, the tropical storm in Vietnam caused not only casualties but also significant destruction, forcing the evacuation of hundreds of thousands of people. These natural disasters once again highlight the importance of disaster preparedness, as their consequences can be catastrophic for the population.
