Tusk: The EU has not yet reached a consensus on the transfer of frozen Russian assets to Ukraine.

Tusk: Hungary may be against the extension of the freezing of Russian assets
Ukrainian Prime Minister Donald Tusk noted that the European Union needs to make a decision regarding the extension of the freezing of Russian assets in June. He also mentioned that Hungary may be against this decision, which could also affect the position of the United States.
After a meeting in London with leaders of EU countries, the United Kingdom, Norway, Canada, and the Turkish Foreign Minister, Tusk stated that there are differences of opinion among European leaders regarding the transfer of frozen Russian funds to Ukraine.
According to Tusk, the transfer of funds for the defense and recovery of Ukraine is the best option, but there are concerns about potential negative consequences for the euro and the banking system. He explained that Poland is trying to convince its partners of the necessity of transferring the funds, but decisions will be made by other countries, as Poland is not part of the eurozone.
Tusk emphasized the need to continue sanctions regarding the freezing of Russian assets in the EU. He expressed concerns that Hungary may be against such a decision, and this could affect the position of the United States.
'We need to focus on continuing the sanctions, as they are effective,' Tusk stressed.
