Qatar reacted to the strike on its embassy in Kyiv: what Doha stated.
According to ТСН: Official representatives of Doha expressed their assessment of the consequences of the night attack on the Ukrainian capital, during which the premises of the Qatari diplomatic mission were damaged.
This is mentioned in a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar published on the department's website.
State of staff and diplomatic position
The ministry confirmed that the building was damaged and expressed "deep regret" in this regard. At the same time, they assured that the employees remained safe.
"We confirm that no diplomats or embassy staff were harmed," the message says.
In light of the incident, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar emphasized the importance of protecting diplomatic missions and international organizations in accordance with the norms of international law.
Calls for dialogue
Despite the strike on its own diplomatic mission, Qatar's rhetoric on the war remained unchanged. The statement reiterates the necessity to resolve the "Russian-Ukrainian crisis" through negotiations.
"The Ministry reaffirms the firm position of the State of Qatar, which calls for resolving the Russian-Ukrainian crisis through dialogue and peaceful means... and reaffirms its full support for all international efforts aimed at de-escalation," summarized Qatari diplomats.
Let us recall that the night Russian strike on the capital of Ukraine damaged the premises of the State of Qatar embassy in Kyiv. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine calls on the countries of the Persian Gulf to publicly respond to Moscow's actions.
This situation underscores the importance of international solidarity in responding to aggression. Qatar's reaction indicates its readiness to support diplomatic efforts to achieve peace in the region.
