Jordan Bardella attacked with an egg during a signing session: details of the incident.
According to ТСН: The leader of the French party "National Rally" (RN) Jordan Bardella, known for his firm anti-immigration stance and collaboration with Marine Le Pen, found himself in a comical situation. During the presentation of his new book, he became the victim of an attack by an outraged pensioner.
Attack in the autograph queue
The incident took place in the town of Maussac during a signing session for the book "What Do the French Want?" Around 15:30, a 74-year-old man approached Bardella's table, who, without raising suspicions from the security, resorted to an unexpected act — he smashed an egg on his head.
The attacker was quickly apprehended and taken to the gendarmerie, where he is charged with "violence against a person endowed with public authority." Bardella did not sustain serious injuries and did not require hospitalization, but the party has already filed an official complaint.
In the evening, the politician reassured his supporters on social media X, noting that he was "fine" and thanked readers for the warm welcome.
An unfortunate week for Bardella
This incident was already the second attack on the politician in recent days. The day before, during a visit to an agricultural fair in Vesoul, he was showered with flour — the attacker turned out to be a 17-year-old teenager.
In the "National Rally" party, they link these incidents to protests accompanying the leader's tour. Bardella's deputies have already condemned the violence and called for the political class of France to respond unanimously to such manifestations.
"This second aggression in less than a week requires a unanimous condemnation of violence from the entire political class," said RN deputy Thomas Menagé.
Recall that last month, the convoy of Ecuador's President Daniel Noboa was attacked by a group of about 500 people as he was heading to the province of Cañar. The police reported that the attackers used firearms and clubs.
These events highlight the rising tension in the political life of France, where protest sentiments increasingly cross over into physical attacks on public officials. Such incidents not only raise questions about the safety of public politicians but also pose real challenges for French society in the context of modern political culture and debates.
