Child Sexual Abuse Case Sent to Court

According to TSN.ua: A 46-year-old resident of Kamianets-Podilskyi will face trial for the systematic sexual abuse of his stepdaughter over a seven-year period. According to the investigation, the crimes began in 2017 when the girl was just five years old. The abuse was uncovered in February of last year, leading to the initiation of a criminal case.

The indictment has already been submitted to the court. The accused faces several charges under the Criminal Code of Ukraine, including:

  • Part 6, Article 152 — liability for the repeated rape of a minor;
  • Parts 4 and 6, Article 153 — sexual violence against a child under 14;
  • Part 2, Article 156 — corruption of a minor.

The most severe charge he faces carries a potential penalty of life imprisonment. The court will now examine all the circumstances of the crime and determine the appropriate punishment for the accused.
