In Kyiv, two young people fell through the ice on the Dnieper: they were rescued by firefighters.
According to ТСН: On Sunday in Kyiv, near the Rusanivska embankment, two people fell through the ice on the Dnieper River.
The event was reported by the capital's State Emergency Service.
Rescuers who arrived at the scene found a boy and a girl approximately 20-25 years old, about 300 meters from the shore.
With the help of an inflatable boat and rescue equipment, the victims were pulled from the water and handed over to medics for further assistance.
Rescuers noted that thanks to the daylight, passing bystanders, and prompt actions, tragic consequences were avoided. If the young people had spent a few more minutes in the cold water, their lives could have ended fatally.
"Fragile ice leaves no room for error — do not go out on the ice, it is a direct and deadly danger," warn the State Emergency Service.
Recall that earlier in Kyiv, a 16-year-old girl fell into a pit with boiling water caused by a heating pipe accident.
This incident again emphasizes the importance of adhering to safety rules on the water, especially in winter when the ice can be dangerous. It is recommended to avoid going out on frozen bodies of water without the necessary equipment and caution.
