Farewell to Honorary Patriarch Filaret
According to Novyny.live: On March 22, 2023, Kyiv held a farewell ceremony for Honorary Patriarch Filaret, who passed away on March 20 at the age of 97. His death was attributed to complications from chronic illnesses. Filaret entered eternal rest after 77 years in monastic life and 65 years as a bishop.
The mourning ceremony lasted through the night of March 20 and continued throughout March 21. Numerous faithful and clergy members attended to pay their respects. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also offered condolences for the loss of this prominent figure.

Taras Kompanichenko shared his memories of Patriarch Filaret, stating: 'He was a great ascetic who served God and Ukraine for many years.'
