According to TSN.ua: A 68-year-old Russian citizen has been detained in Kyiv on suspicion of murdering an 85-year-old pensioner. The fatal altercation reportedly erupted during an argument concerning a debt of 3,000 hryvnias (approximately $75). According to police, the suspect accused the elderly woman of spreading what he claimed was false information about him owing her money.
The killing occurred at the scene, where the victim died from her injuries and blood loss. The suspect was detained under Article 208 of Ukraine's Criminal Procedure Code. He has been formally notified of suspicion of intentional murder under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code. If convicted under current law, the man faces a potential prison sentence of up to 15 years.
