Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiga instructed the Ukrainian consulate in Portugal to provide all necessary support to the family of the deceased. 'Our diplomats have contacted the relatives of the victim and expressed their condolences', - it is stated in the department's statement.

An investigation into the causes of the accident in Portugal is currently underway. The Lisbon government has suspended the operation of other funiculars - Bica, Lavra, and Graça, for technical inspections.
