According to ТСН: In the first hours of the new year, the Volyn region was subjected to a drone attack. Explosions were heard in Lutsk and Kovel, and residents reported the operation of air defense systems.

According to unofficial information, Kovel became the first city in 2026 to undergo a massive drone attack. It is known that energy infrastructure facilities were damaged, which left part of the city without electricity.

The mayor of Lutsk Ihor Polishchuk noted that the threat to the regional center continues.

“The Shahed is already approaching Lutsk. Our forces are working on it,” he wrote.

Official data regarding the scale of damage and possible casualties is currently being clarified.

Recall that on the morning of December 6, during an air raid alert, there were strong explosions in Lutsk. In the Volyn region, sirens again sounded at 06:27 when drones attacked the city. Recorded hits indicate the seriousness of the situation.
