Woman Faces Up to Three Years in Prison for Shooting Neighbor's Dog in Lviv Region.

According to TSN.ua: A 55-year-old woman in the Stryi district of the Lviv region shot and killed a neighbor's dog on January 24. The 37-year-old owner of the animal reported the killing to law enforcement. According to the report, the woman used a 'Crosman Phantom' air rifle to shoot the dog, which died from the inflicted wound.
The woman has now been formally notified of suspicion for committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 299 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which concerns the cruel treatment of animals. If found guilty, she could face either restriction of liberty for one to three years or imprisonment for two to three years. A pre-trial investigation is ongoing, with law enforcement continuing to handle the case.
