A new water pipeline has been launched in Mykolaiv: how it will change water quality.
According to inkorr.com: Since October 1, water supply from the new pipeline laid from Nova Odesa has started in Mykolaiv. This aims to improve the quality of drinking water in the city. This was reported by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration Vitaliy Kim in an interview with 'Glavkom'.
He explained that the new pipeline, 67 km long, consists of two supply lines capable of delivering 120 thousand cubic meters of water. The water will come from the Southern Bug River.
“Since October 1, water has been flowing continuously. Around October 7-8, it will enter the city's system. Currently, various meters and flow meters are being tested... Most likely, at first we will mix: water from the Inhulets with water from the new pipeline, to wash out the old one. Water will not become crystal clear overnight. But people will gradually feel how it gets better. The whole process might take four months, although the projected time was twice as long,”- noted Vitaliy Kim.
The final stage of the new pipeline construction
Alexey Kuleba also reported that the construction of the new pipeline for Mykolaiv is in its final stage. Over the last three weeks, the system has been gradually filling with water, and each section undergoes testing and inspection. Only 1.9 km remains to be connected to the existing water supply network to ensure stable water supply to the city.
Additionally, the cost of building the new pipeline has been reduced from 8.7 billion UAH to 5 billion UAH thanks to adjustments to the technical and economic justification of the project.
Thus, the water supply from the new pipeline starts in Mykolaiv, aimed at improving the quality of drinking water. This is an important stage in the construction of the pipeline, the completion of which will ensure stable water supply to the city at more affordable prices, thanks to project optimization. Residents will gradually notice improvements in water quality, which is an important step for enhancing living conditions in the region.
