According to TSN.ua: A previously unknown dinosaur species, named Doolysaurus huhmini, has been identified in South Korea. This creature roamed the Earth more than 90 million years ago, and its discovery marks the first new dinosaur species found in the country in 15 years. Doolysaurus lived during a period spanning from 113 to 94 million years ago, and the specimen was approximately two years old at the time of death.

This dinosaur was relatively small, no larger than an adult iguana. Fully grown members of the species could have reached twice that size. The fossils contained gastroliths, or stomach stones, which provide clues about the dinosaur's diet and digestive habits. It is worth noting that dinosaur nests, eggs, and bones are extremely rare finds in South Korea.

In addition to the new species, nearly 18,000 individual dinosaur footprints were discovered at the Carreras Pampa site, dating back approximately 70 million years. This finding opens up new avenues for studying dinosaurs in the region and highlights the growing importance of paleontological research in South Korea.

The identification of Doolysaurus huhmini underscores a rising interest in paleontology within South Korea, a field that has traditionally seen less activity compared to other parts of the world.
