The Kremlin will send New Year greetings to Trump: what is known about the polite gesture.
According to ТСН: The Kremlin has decided to send greetings to U.S. President Donald Trump for the New Year and Christmas.
This was reported by Yuri Ushakov, assistant to the President of the Russian Federation for foreign policy issues.
«As polite people, we will send greetings to Mr. Trump for Christmas and the New Year».
Earlier, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that the Kremlin would inform if the president of the aggressor country decides to congratulate his American counterpart.
According to Russian media reports, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio congratulated Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Christmas during a recent press conference.
It was also reported that President Trump will enjoy red caviar from the Khabarovsk region, which was delivered to him by the chief U.S. negotiator Steve Witkoff.
This news underscores the continuation of diplomatic communication between Russia and the U.S., despite existing tensions. Preparations for the holidays may serve as a reason to enable dialogue in difficult political circumstances. However, against the backdrop of rapid changes in international politics, how sincere these greetings can be remains in question.
