Five Targets Hit Inside Russia and Occupied Territories: Ukraine’s Defense Forces Strike Moscow Oil Refinery.
Moscow Oil Refinery Under Attack
According to UATV: Ukraine’s defense forces launched a strike on the Moscow Oil Refinery, located in the Moscow region. The attack ignited five separate fires at the facility. With an annual processing capacity exceeding 12 million tons of oil, this refinery plays a key role in supplying fuel to Moscow and the surrounding area, meaning the damage could significantly disrupt local fuel supplies.
Other Strategic Sites Targeted
Additional strikes hit several other critical infrastructure points. A fire broke out at the 'Gukovo' oil depot in the Rostov region. Attackers also targeted a vehicle bridge over the Kalka River near Granitne, as well as a railway bridge crossing the North Crimean Canal near Rozdolne. Furthermore, a command post belonging to occupying forces near Soledar was struck.
In separate operations, Ukrainian forces hit fuel and lubricant storage sites in Mariupol and Piatypillia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated: 'The Moscow oil refinery, which largely supplies fuel to Moscow and the Moscow region, was hit.'
These actions demonstrate the continuation of active military operations in territory under enemy control, aimed at dismantling logistics and supply routes.
The strikes could have major implications for the regional military situation, as damaging strategic supply nodes may limit Russian forces’ resources. At the same time, this highlights Ukraine’s adaptation to evolving war conditions, focusing efforts on the adversary’s vulnerabilities. The situation remains tense, and further moves by either side could significantly alter the conflict’s trajectory.
