Attacks on Russian Military Installations

According to Espreso.tv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, alongside the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), has reported recent strikes on Russian military assets and outlined Ukraine's sanctions-based response to Moscow's prolongation of the war. Notably, Ukrainian drones successfully hit a strategic facility within Russia's military-industrial complex located in the Penza region, roughly 600 kilometers from the front lines.

One of Russia's largest lubricant producers is an oil refinery in Ufa, situated more than 1,300 kilometers from the frontline. On July 1, Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles targeted the Saki military airfield in Crimea, recording five direct hits on hangars. At the time of the attack, two hangars housed Su-30 and Su-30SM fighter jets. Following the strike, a fire broke out in the hangar containing the Su-30SM. Each Su-30 aircraft is valued between 30 and 50 million US dollars.

The Imperative of Accountability for Aggression

“Our plan for deploying Ukrainian long-range sanctions is carried out every day. This is entirely justified in response to everything Russia is doing against us. Peace is necessary, and this is what the Russian leadership must understand. Russia must end its war. And the Russian leadership has every means to do so.” - Volodymyr Zelenskyy

These developments underscore Ukraine’s sustained countermeasures against Russian aggression.

The strikes highlight an escalation in the Ukraine-Russia conflict and demonstrate Kyiv’s growing ability to hit targets far beyond the battlefront. Beyond destroying enemy military infrastructure, such operations also boost the morale of Ukrainian troops and civilians. President Zelenskyy’s statements reaffirm Ukraine’s commitment to a peaceful resolution, but make clear that such an outcome requires Russia to abandon its aggressive stance.
