The International Monetary Fund is starting a mission for the fifth review of the extended funding program EFF.
This will allow Ukraine to receive $1.1 billion this fall, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced.
"Discussed the start of the mission's work during a conversation with the IMF's European Department Director Alfred Kammer. Thanked Mr. Kammer and the entire Fund team for their consistent work on the fourth review of the program, which took place this summer. Discussed the implementation of reforms and the achievement of structural benchmarks. Noted progress in this direction. Ukraine systemically works with partners to ensure macro-financial stability. In particular, it successfully implements the EU Ukraine Facility program worth €50 billion," the head of government noted.
Shmyhal reported that the parties also focused on the issue of confiscating Russian assets, which should become a significant resource for supporting Ukraine.
"We appreciate the unwavering support of the IMF during difficult times for our state. We continue to work towards a common goal - a strong and successful Ukraine," the Prime Minister emphasized.
