Ukraine and Denmark agreed on a fast-track mechanism for investments.
Ukraine and Denmark signed an agreement that establishes a fast-track mechanism for investments. This will help businesses overcome market barriers more quickly and improve the business climate. The agreement was signed during the Danish-Ukrainian business forum on November 25 in Kyiv.
'Ukraine needs to increase private investments for the rapid recovery of our economy. We are working to strengthen ties between Danish and Ukrainian companies, as well as to improve the conditions for doing business in the country. Today we signed a memorandum that provides for the launch of the Fast-Track Mechanism between the governments of our countries, which will act as a single entry point to overcome the barriers faced by Danish companies and investors in Ukraine,' said the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliya Svyrydenko.
Representatives of the Danish and Ukrainian authorities will hold regular meetings with Danish companies operating in Ukraine. During these meetings, they will be able to discuss the difficulties they face when investing and doing business. The parties also plan to maintain constant communication between the governments of both countries to address urgent issues.
'The Government of Denmark and Danish businesses stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine. Starting to do business in your country is not easy right now, but Danish companies are eager to do so. We must support them in this endeavor. Therefore, together with the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliya Svyrydenko, we signed an agreement to assist Danish businesses involved in rebuilding Ukraine. Danish companies are ready to take on significant responsibilities and share their knowledge and experience in various fields - from green energy to new technologies to strengthening critical infrastructure. This is yet another example of effective cooperation between our countries,' said the Danish Minister of Entrepreneurship Morten Bedskow.
This memorandum continues the previously signed agreement between the Governments of Ukraine and Denmark in April 2024. It provided for new funding of approximately 40 million euros for the Danish investment fund EIFO, which will promote new investments in the Ukrainian economy. Additionally, the Danish Government allocated extra funding to the Ukrainian EIFO mechanism amounting to about 380 million euros to support critical infrastructure that utilizes renewable energy.
