Ukraine to Increase the Number of Mobile Stations with Backup Power: How This Will Prevent Blackouts.
According to inkorr.com: The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov, announced plans to increase the number of mobile stations with backup power. This decision is intended to help maintain stable communication during potential blackouts. The initiative arose after discussions at the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, where issues related to Russian attacks on energy facilities and the need to ensure communication reliability in power outage conditions were considered.
The Importance of New Stations
We discussed priorities for defense and specific areas of cooperation with partners to strengthen the air defense system. One important step is to increase the number of mobile stations with emergency power.
Umerov also noted that backup power sources would be redistributed with an emphasis on frontline areas. The head of the Ukrainian regulator of electronic communications, radio frequencies, and postal services, Liliya Malyen, emphasized that base stations cannot function without electricity during prolonged outages. She added that mobile communication in such situations should be considered a temporary solution.
Improving Communication during Blackouts
Increasing the number of mobile stations with backup power in Ukraine will be an important step towards ensuring reliable and stable communication during blackouts, especially in the context of escalating situations in the eastern part of the country.
This initiative underscores the importance of stable communication for the civilian population, especially in critical situations. Ensuring access to communication can significantly ease the lives of Ukrainians during emergencies and help organize emergency measures.
