Ukraine Already Has Ballistic Missiles: Cherniev Reveals Production Details.
Ukraine's Ballistic Capability
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine has already developed and is manufacturing several types of ballistic missiles, according to Yehor Cherniev, deputy head of the Ukrainian parliament's national security committee. He stated that
“Ukrainian ballistic missiles already exist, and not just one type.”Cherniev stressed the urgent need to scale up production to meet defense requirements.
Among the missiles currently produced in Ukraine are the FP-7, made by the company Fire Point, and the 'Sapsan' system. However, to build anti-ballistic missiles, Ukraine requires licenses from the United States. This issue has become increasingly critical as the country faces a shortage of PAC-3 missiles needed for defense against ballistic threats.
Priority on Defense Tech Development
Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has also emphasized the importance of advancing defense technologies. Given current security challenges, the production and improvement of domestic ballistic systems have become a top priority for national security.
These statements from Ukrainian officials highlight the country's determination to strengthen its defense capabilities amid external threats. Developing and manufacturing its own ballistic systems could significantly enhance Ukraine's security, especially in the context of aggression from Russia. Securing licenses and fostering cooperation with international partners remain crucial for the continued growth of Ukraine's defense industry.
