Vyacheslav survived after captivity with a severed throat: a rescue story.
According to inkorr.com: Sergeant Vyacheslav was captured by Russian troops after an attack on his position, which was bombed. Several Ukrainian soldiers also found themselves in captivity, including the youngest, who was only 18 years old. Sergey Ryzhko, the director of I.I. Mechnikov Hospital, personally rescued Vyacheslav and other soldiers from the torture of Russian occupiers.
The occupiers tortured prisoners, cutting off their organs and gouging out their eyes. This nightmare lasted until everyone who fell into their hands had died, - Ryzhko said.
Vyacheslav was wounded and, along with other soldiers, ended up in a pit where he had his organs torn off and his eyes burned. Despite the horrific injuries, he managed to survive thanks to his own efforts and a piece of old cloth that he used to bandage his wounds. After five days in captivity, he escaped and made it to Ukrainian positions, where he was taken to the Mechnikov Hospital.
Financial support for freed soldiers
The Ukrainian parliament passed a new law that provides additional financial assistance to soldiers returning from Russian captivity. According to this law, they will receive a monthly payment of 50,000 hryvnias during the first three months of treatment. This simplified the process of obtaining medical certificates for injuries and illnesses sustained in captivity.
