Ukrzaliznytsia Reports Minimal Delays as Trains Maintain Schedule Amidst Conflict.
As of March 10, 2026
According to TSN.ua: Ukrzaliznytsia's trains, including those serving front-line areas, are largely adhering to their published schedules. The state railway operator reports that only six trains are currently experiencing delays exceeding 30 minutes. Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia, emphasized that train operations remain stable despite significant security challenges stemming from the ongoing war. This operational resilience is crucial for maintaining connections across the country.
Pertsovskyi cautioned, however, that trains may be temporarily halted due to Russian attacks. In the event of a serious threat, evacuation procedures are initiated as a necessary safety measure for passengers. Additionally, on March 10, disruptions to suburban train services were recorded due to power outages, which may affect local transport timetables.
Passenger Safety
"The only 100% safe option for any transport operator is to operate like the aviation industry." - Oleksandr Pertsovskyi
Pertsovskyi stressed the importance of passengers planning their journeys with potential delays in mind. Recommendations include allowing for 2-3 hour layovers for connections, adhering to safety protocols during any evacuation, and carrying small snacks. Travelers should stay informed of real-time updates from the railway.
The continued operation of Ukrzaliznytsia under military threat underscores the company's efforts to sustain critical transport infrastructure under extreme duress. Maintaining stable train movement, even with some delays, highlights the railway's vital role in ensuring population mobility, especially in high-risk regions. The absolute priority remains passenger safety, and implementing protective measures is deemed critical in the current situation.
