According to Novyny.live: Ukrzaliznytsia has responded to inquiries about introducing special labels for passengers traveling with animals by stating it has no plans to implement such a system. The state railway company explained that current personal data protection legislation prohibits the public display of passengers' personal characteristics to other users. This legal framework on privacy is the primary reason for the decision.

Some travelers had suggested that such labels could simplify the process of choosing a seat in a train compartment. As one passenger noted:

“It would make choosing a seat in the compartment so much easier and would definitely reduce anxiety while waiting to meet your travel companions.”

However, given the legal constraints, Ukrzaliznytsia cannot proceed with this initiative.

Passenger Safety During Wartime

Separately, in the context of the ongoing war, Ukrzaliznytsia has restricted train movements due to Russian attacks in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions. This measure was adopted to ensure the safety of passengers and staff. The railway continues to operate under immense pressure, balancing service with security. Additionally, an existing rule requires conductors to collect passengers' bed linen 30 minutes before the train's arrival, which remains a key aspect of service organization.

Consequently, despite the desire of some travelers for special labels for convenience, Ukrzaliznytsia is obligated to adhere to legal norms that prevent such innovations. During wartime, the company's focus is necessarily on ensuring passenger safety, which takes priority in its operations. This underscores how legal compliance and security concerns in passenger service can complicate the implementation of new initiatives, even those aimed at improving travel comfort.
