Ukrzaliznytsia has suspended ticket sales: schedule changes due to shelling.
According to ТСН: Ukrzaliznytsia has suspended ticket sales for some trains departing after January 21. This decision is related to the need to adjust train schedules due to the Russian shelling of the railway section near the city of Fastiv in Kyiv region.
The company promises to complete the schedule updates by the end of January 7.
We will reopen sales on the morning of January 8: domestic flights from 08:00, international flights from 09:00. According to the updated schedules, Ukrainian trains will start operating from January 22, the message states.
Ukrzaliznytsia also warned about possible train delays until the new schedule is launched.
Delays of 1-2 hours may occur, depending on the intensity of traffic on the Fastiv section, the company notes.
Recall that earlier it was reported that Ukrzaliznytsia made changes to several suburban routes on the Fastiv section of Kyiv region. Some routes will not operate, and some long-distance trains will pass through Fastiv without stopping. The latest shelling has significantly complicated the operation of the Fastiv railway junction.
These changes reflect the current situation in railway communication, which requires prompt response to security challenges. Ukrzaliznytsia is working to improve the quality of services, but the situation remains tense, and possible schedule changes may affect millions of passengers who rely on railway transportation.
