According to TSN.ua: The Ukrainian government is providing a one-time winter assistance payment of 6,500 hryvnias to its most vulnerable citizens. Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko has assured the public that the full payments will be made, despite acknowledging some existing delays. This aid is a critical component of the nation's social safety net during a period of economic strain and heightened energy costs. Not all eligible Ukrainians from the most vulnerable groups have yet received this support.
Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko confirmed that the full funding for this program is already secured. The total need is nearly 330 million hryvnias for 50,721 recipients. Overall, 410,000 Ukrainians are eligible for the 6,500 hryvnia payment. As of today, payments totaling 2.43 billion hryvnias have been distributed to 374,000 people.
Eligibility for Assistance
The categories of citizens eligible to receive the aid include:
- Children under guardianship,
- Children and persons with disabilities,
- Children from low-income families,
- Internally displaced persons,
- Pensioners living alone.
This program provides essential support for vulnerable segments of the population facing current hardships.
