Financial Aid for Residents of Sumy Region

According to Novyny.live: In March 2026, the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), in partnership with the 'Right to Protection' Charitable Foundation, will begin providing cash assistance to residents of Ukraine's Sumy Region, including the Dubovyazivska community. This initiative represents a critical step in supporting a population facing severe hardship due to the ongoing conflict. The aid is targeted at those who have not received any financial support from UNHCR or other organizations in the preceding three months.

Eligible families will receive a total of 10,800 Ukrainian hryvnias (UAH). This breaks down to a payment of 3,600 UAH per person, distributed monthly over a three-month period.

Eligibility Criteria for Assistance

To qualify for this support, households must meet specific requirements, including:

  • A per capita income not exceeding 6,318 UAH.
  • Vulnerability criteria covering single-parent households with children, households with elderly members, and households including persons with disabilities.

The program is designed to aid the most vulnerable segments of the civilian population.

Prior registration is mandatory to receive aid. Registration can be done by phone at 063 182 68 38. In-person registration is also available at the reception office located at 8 V. Hlukhovtsia Street, open from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. For those who qualify under the vulnerability criteria, the assistance will be automatically extended for an additional six months, ensuring longer-term support during this difficult period.

This effort is part of a broader initiative by UNHCR and its partner organizations to assist the population of Sumy Region, which is in urgent need of humanitarian aid.

The launch of cash assistance in Sumy Region is a vital initiative addressing the immediate needs of a population enduring immense challenges. UNHCR and the 'Right to Protection' Charitable Foundation aim to support vulnerable civilians, highlighting the importance of social responsibility during times of crisis.

Given that qualifying families have had no financial aid for the past quarter, this program is poised to significantly alleviate their situation and provide essential support.
