UNHCR Cash Assistance Program in Odesa
According to Novyny.live: The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) will expand its cash assistance initiative in Odesa in February 2026, opening registration for one-time payments exceeding 10,000 Ukrainian hryvnias. This program is designed to support vulnerable individuals who have been affected by conflict and were forced to flee dangerous areas within the last six months. This expansion is part of ongoing international efforts to aid displaced persons within Ukraine.
Payments will be issued as 3,600 UAH per person, distributed over a three-month period. To qualify, an applicant's monthly income must not exceed 6,300 UAH. The primary recipients of this financial aid will be low-income individuals and members of vulnerable groups, specifically:
- Single-parent families raising minor children;
- Elderly persons aged 55 and above;
- Individuals with disability groups I-III or those suffering from severe illnesses.
The UNHCR office in Odesa, located at 103a Staroportofrankivska Street, will handle registrations. Office hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Applications for the full 10,800 UAH payment are also being accepted by the charitable foundation 'Pomahaem' (We Help). Separately, assistance provided through the 'Right to Protection' charity foundation will amount to 3,600 UAH for a three-month term.
