The 'Diia' app mistakenly identified Kostiantynivka as a city in the Russian Federation: what is happening.
According to inkorr.com: In the birth certificate of one of the users of the 'Diia' app, the city of Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk region was mistakenly indicated as a settlement of the Russian Federation. User Serhiy Sokol shared a screenshot of this act in social media X, as reported by 'Hlavkom'.
Representatives of 'Diia' explained in the comments under his post that the error was made by a registrar of NAIS during the entry of the archival act into the register. The information in the mobile app is generated based on this data.
'We have already established that the error was made by a registrar of NAIS during the entry of the archival act into the register, based on the data from which act records are generated in the mobile application,' said 'Diia'.
Correction of the error and a new opportunity
The NAIS team is already working on correcting the situation and implementing measures to prevent similar cases in the future.
In addition, a new paid service may appear in the 'Diia' app – the ability to change the photo in the passport displayed in the app. Deputy Prime Minister for Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov conducted a corresponding survey in Threads. This was also reported by 'Hlavkom'.
Fedorov asked users if they were willing to pay 99 UAH for changing the photo. Most Ukrainians responded positively to this idea. Users actively support the initiative, expressing a willingness to pay even more, as appearances change over time. Some even admitted that they could 'lose' their documents to be able to take a new photo.
Thus, after the error in entering data into the birth certificate in 'Diia', the NAIS team is working on resolving the issue and trying to avoid similar shortcomings in the future. The platform also plans to introduce a new paid service – changing the photo in the passport, which has received positive feedback from users.
