In Spain, the missing Picasso has been found: police revealed details of the search.
According to Korrespondent.net: Spanish law enforcement has discovered the painting by Pablo Picasso titled
“Naturaleza muerta con guitarra”(Still Life with Guitar), created in 1919. This piece belonged to a private collector and was set to be exhibited in Granada. However, on October 10, the painting mysteriously disappeared during transportation from Madrid.
Investigation Details
According to information from Reuters, the police have not yet disclosed details regarding the location where the painting was found. Their statement indicates that the investigation is ongoing, but there are suggestions that the painting might have simply not been loaded into the truck before departing for Granada.
Special Task Force
The investigation is being conducted by a special group for the protection of historical heritage. It remains unknown whether this is a crime or simply a mistake.
Disappearance during Transportation
According to the exhibition organizers, the Picasso painting was packed along with 57 other works. During unboxing, it was found that one of them was missing — a video recording of the unloading showed only 57 works instead of 58.
Recall that earlier in Madrid, two activists from the climate movement Futuro Vegetal splashed biodegradable red paint on the painting
“First Homage to Christopher Columbus”.
A Picasso painting worth 600,000 euros has gone missing in Spain.
