Odesa is increasing the number of officials: where new positions will appear and how many there will be.
Starting from mid-August, the staff of the city council and its structures will officially expand. The number of officials will grow to 2268, although last year there were fewer. New positions are being added both in departments and in district administrations.
Odesa will have more officials. This is stated in the order of the head of the city of Odesa, Hennadiy Trukhanov, published on the city's website.
According to the new order of the mayor, the number of employees in the city council and its executive bodies will be increased by 11 — from 2257 to 2268. For comparison, in 2024 there were 2092 people working in the structures, and in 2017 there were only 1728. The changes will take effect from August 15, 2025.
Where new positions will appear
New positions will appear in the following subdivisions:
- Department of International Cooperation, Culture and Marketing — from 54 to 58 employees;
- Department of Engineering Protection of the City and Coastal Development — from 13 to 17;
- Kyiv District Administration — from 64 to 66;
- Peresyp District Administration — from 65 to 66.
The number of reserve positions is also being reduced — from 43 to 32. That is, part of the reserve is simply being converted into new positions.
According to the order, all heads of subdivisions must update their staffing tables and agree them with the HR department and the finance department. The execution of the order will be controlled by the deputy mayor Valeriy Silin.
After the publication of the order by the head of the city of Odesa, the number of officials in the city administration and its structures will increase, indicating an expansion of administrative capabilities and an increase in the role of city authorities in the development of the city.Read also
