Threats to the Ukrainian School in Budapest: Police Discovered the Organizer of the Attacks

According to inkorr.com: The Ukrainian school in Budapest became the target of bomb threats, causing serious concern among students. Olena Beskorovaina, co-founder of the first bilingual secondary school and gymnasium in Budapest, reported that threats had been received via Telegram, which led to increased security measures and a police report.

Situation at the School

“There were times when we received emails twice a day: we received a letter about a bomb threat, called the police, evacuated all the children, the police checked 2,800 sq. m. of the school with a dog and said that everything was clear, and the children could return when the next letter arrived...”
“And it partly worked because some parents wanted to take their children out of school. It was stressful for everyone. We have reinforced security measures at the school...”

During the investigation, it turned out that the boy suspected of the bomb threats is currently under investigation. He was receiving money for his letters in cryptocurrency, and his group included 12 teenagers. The National Bureau of Investigation is handling this case, considering it 'terrorist activity' in the context of national security and minors.

Threat to Security

The police also uncovered attempts by Russian special services to recruit Ukrainian teenagers for committing offenses in Ukraine, which underscores the threat to national security.

Events in Budapest indicate serious challenges faced by Ukrainian children abroad. Threats received through bombings complicate the educational process and create an atmosphere of stress for students and their families. It is also important to monitor the situation regarding youth recruitment, as this could indicate broader security threats to Ukrainians in other countries.
