Extension of basic military training

A pilot project to extend basic military training (BMT) from 30 days to 1.5 months has been launched at four training centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

This was announced by the Deputy Chief at the briefing Evgeny Mezhevikin during a briefing in Kyiv.

One of the important steps taken to enhance training and improve the quality of training of servicemen in training centers is the increase in the duration of basic military training. For this purpose, a BMT program with a training period of 1.5 months has been developed and approved. - noted Mezhevikin.

According to him, the decision to implement this pilot project was made by the Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky. Currently, about 500 servicemen are involved in the experiment.

The updated BMT program includes study of the basics of using drones and trench warfare, strengthening tactical and fire training, reconnaissance and sabotage activities, and survival skills at the front, especially in the cold season.

The results of the pilot project will be analyzed in December of this year. After that, the Commander-in-Chief will make a decision on the possible dissemination of this practice to other training centers.
