A new fraudulent scheme related to state treason has appeared in Ukraine.
A New Fraudulent Scheme in Ukraine
A new fraudulent scheme has emerged in a Ukrainian agency. Scammers are using the phone to instill panic among people, pretending to be law enforcement and accusing them of state treason. This scheme is already known in the Ternopil region, where a pensioner lost over 400 thousand hryvnias.
The fraudster psychologically pressured her, creating the impression that she would soon be arrested, but at the same time 'allowed her' to avoid punishment by transferring money to 'resolve the situation.'
Only after the woman transferred money to the specified account did she realize that she had become a victim of scammers. The police have initiated a criminal proceeding and are already searching for the perpetrator.
Stranger Danger: Be Cautious
The police have repeatedly emphasized that no representative of law enforcement has the right to demand money from citizens for any services or help. If you receive a suspicious message or call, it is better to verify the information through official channels and not to trust unknown persons who demand money.
Recently, a man was detained in Kyiv for deceiving a widow of a military hero for over 300 thousand hryvnias, promising her help in establishing a monument. Therefore, one should always be vigilant and not fall for the provocations of scammers.
