Trump Closes Airspace Over Venezuela: Maduro's Government Calls It a Threat.
According to ТСН: US President Donald Trump recently announced that the airspace over Venezuela is considered closed. In response, the Caracas government categorically refuted the statement of the American leader.
As reported by Reuters, Venezuelans vehemently condemned Trump's words.
"Venezuela condemned the statement of US President Trump that the airspace... over Venezuela should be considered closed,"
- says the official comment from the government.
Caracas also accused the US administration of violating international norms, emphasizing that such statements present a "colonial threat" to the country's sovereignty and contradict international law.
Comment from the US President
Earlier, Trump reached out to airlines and pilots, urging them to consider the airspace over Venezuela completely closed.
"Dear airlines, pilots, drug dealers, and human traffickers, please consider the airspace over and around Venezuela completely closed,"
- stated Trump's message.
Additionally, according to information, the US plans to soon take action to detain Venezuelan citizens suspected of drug trafficking who are trying to flee the country.
Moreover, Trump expressed readiness to consider deploying American military units to Venezuela if necessary.
These events are heightening tensions in the region and highlighting the complexity of relations between the US and Venezuela. At the same time, Caracas's reaction only exacerbates the situation, calling into question the international order and rules. So far, neither side intends to lower the level of tension, which could lead to unforeseen consequences in the future.
