Digital Services for Veterans

According to Novyny.live: Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs Ruslan Prykhodko has informed Halyna Ostapovets that veterans of the war will soon be able to access all government services online, eliminating the need for in-person visits to offices. The full rollout of this digital system is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize public administration and reduce bureaucratic hurdles for citizens.

A number of services for veterans have already been digitized. For instance, the 'Diia' platform can now be used to apply for official veteran status. The state is also working to gather missing certificates on behalf of veterans, so they will not need to submit a complete document package themselves. A unified digital service is currently in beta testing, which is expected to further streamline the process of obtaining government assistance.

Key Objectives and Steps

While some digital service components are already in place, Ruslan Prykhodko emphasized that the primary goal is to integrate all elements into a single, seamless service and ensure data exchange between state institutions. This digital transformation is crucial for a nation rebuilding during and after a major conflict. Important steps toward this goal include:

  • Digitizing medical services for veterans;
  • Implementing a state program to support employers who provide jobs for veterans.

The introduction of comprehensive online services for veterans represents a significant advancement in making government support more accessible. This process will not only cut red tape but also make life easier for veterans, who often face difficulties when trying to obtain necessary paperwork. The successful implementation of these initiatives could also serve as a model for other government agencies aiming to digitize their services for the public.
