According to Novyny.live: In 2026, disabled veterans in Ukraine can qualify for a cash payment to help purchase a home, provided they meet specific criteria. This program, active throughout 2026, offers financial support to veterans with Group I or II disabilities, as well as to individuals whose disabilities resulted from combat operations.

To receive the compensation, applicants must be registered on the official housing waiting list. The application process involves three stages, with a special commission taking up to 18 working days to review each case. Eligible veterans are required to open a dedicated account at the state-owned Oschadbank. Once approved, they must select and purchase a home within six months.

The compensation amount is calculated on a case-by-case basis, depending on individual circumstances. Separately, starting in January 2025, the Pension Fund of Ukraine has taken over the administration of payments for hosting internally displaced persons. This shelter compensation is set at 450 hryvnias per person. In 2026, internally displaced individuals will continue to receive living assistance: 2,000 hryvnias for adults and 3,000 hryvnias for children with disabilities.
