This year, the most popular search query was 'Power Outage Schedule'. After the power outages, Ukrainians were most interested in 'Euro 2024' and 'Syrskiy'. Other popular queries included 'Olympic Games 2024', 'Easter 2024', and 'Sudja'. This was reported by Google’s press service.
In the category of personalities that intrigued Ukrainians the most this year, the leader was the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskiy. Ukrainians were also actively interested in Oleksandr Usyk, Donald Trump, Kamala Harris, and Klavdiya Petrovna.
The most queries about losses in 2024 were related to Iryna Farion, Alexei Navalny, and Alain Delon.
In the 'Movies' category, the Ukrainian documentary '20 Days in Mariupol' was the leader. In second and third places were sequels to popular films: the animation 'Inside Out 2' and the space sci-fi 'Dune: Part Two'. Other significant interests included the films 'Soltbern', 'Substance', and the Ukrainian horror mystery film 'Konotopska Witch'.
Among search queries about purchases this year, Ukrainians were interested in buying energy equipment, specifically EcoFlow, charging stations, inverters, and solar panels. Popular queries in this category also included Dubai chocolate, squish toys, and tubing.
In 2024, Ukrainian users searched for the meanings of the abbreviations MSEC (Medical-Social Expert Commission), REB (Radioelectronic Warfare), CNAP (Center for the Provision of Administrative Services), and CAB (Guided Aviation Bomb). In addition, they tried to clarify the meanings of the words 'terikony', 'quadcopters', and 'chinazes', as well as what the power outage queues and the OK-7 reference are.
