Military analyst explained why Putin is involving North Korean troops in the war against Ukraine.
Russian leader Vladimir Putin decided to involve North Korean troops in the fight against Ukraine due to a shortage of human resources. This was stated by military analyst Ivan Stupak.
According to him, Putin's main task is to capture the eastern part of Ukraine and drive the Armed Forces of Ukraine out of the Kursk region.
For this, Putin needs additional forces, which he does not currently have. He is mobilizing many people, but they are not enough to wage war in other directions. Therefore, it is likely that Putin has decided to send 'fodder' to Kursk to aid the main group of troops, likely with the aim of losing these people, rather than gaining combat experience and sharing it with Pyongyang
Stupak believes that there is a fear of mobilization in the Kremlin. He noted that after partial mobilization, a large number of specialists left Russia, and among the Russian mobilized population itself, there are already significant losses due to combat actions.
In Russia, problems with employment and unemployment have arisen. The unemployment rate fell to 2.6%, which, according to Russian economists, is not realistic. Many factories and plants are facing a shortage of labor, but there are no people who want to work in Russia
According to Stupak, the Kremlin is afraid of plunging into an economic crisis. He agreed with the opinion that the involvement of North Korean troops indicates Putin's desperation.
