Defenders warn of a new threat in Donetsk: what will happen to the front.
Threat from the loss of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk
According to ТСН: The loss of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk could open the enemy's path through open terrain towards Kharkiv.
Spokesman of the 11th Army Corps Dmytro Zaporozhets emphasized the criticality of the situation in this region:
«Well, if you look the truth in the eye and consider what lies behind the same Sloviansk, the Sloviansk-Izyum highway towards Kharkiv, or behind Kramatorsk, one can see that there is a lot of open terrain, no industry where command posts can be established, and various control points for the Armed Forces. And this, let’s say, will lead to nothing good. That’s a fact».
Considering these circumstances, he called for strengthening the defense in Sloviansk, Druzhkivka, and other settlements under Ukrainian control in Donetsk.
Earlier, Major General of the Reserve of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Serhiy Kryvonos noted that Ukraine needs to hold out for another six to eight months for the war to end.
Currently, the situation at the front remains tense, and the loss of these strategically important cities could significantly impact the further development of the conflict. Strengthening the defense in Sloviansk and Kramatorsk becomes a priority for the Ukrainian military, as this may save not only specific settlements but also slow down the enemy's advance in the Kharkiv region.
